Day 1 Arrival At Gorakhpur to Varanasi
Meeting at Varanasi Airport: Upon your arrival at Lal
Bahadur Shastri International Airport Varanasi (VNS),
located in Babatpur, Pindra, Uttar Pradesh 221006,
India, a representative from Alkof Holidays will warmly
welcome you and escort you to your hotel in Varanasi.
After settling in and relaxing, you'll have the
opportunity to explore the vibrant city, including its
numerous ghats, revered temples, and bustling local
marketplaces. As evening approaches, you'll witness the
captivating Aarti ceremony performed on the banks of the
sacred River Ganges. Enjoy a comfortable overnight stay
at your Varanasi hotel.
Varanasi Exploration & Journey to Bodh Gaya: Following
breakfast at your hotel in Varanasi, we will depart for
Bodh Gaya, a significant Buddhist pilgrimage destination
renowned as the place where the Buddha attained
enlightenment under the sacred Bodhi Tree. Upon reaching
Bodh Gaya, you will check into your hotel. Later, we
will visit the Mahabodhi Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage
site named in honor of the Buddha and a profoundly
sacred place for Buddhists worldwide. You will also have
the opportunity to explore the revered Maha-bodhi tree,
considered holy as it sheltered Lord Buddha during his
enlightenment. Our exploration will also include a visit
to Sujata Village, the Niranajana River, and various
monasteries, each offering insights into Buddhist
culture and history. Enjoy an overnight stay at your
hotel in Bodh Gaya.
Bodh Gaya to Varanasi via Gaya: After breakfast in Bodh
Gaya, we will proceed to Gaya (approximately 12
kilometers) to visit the Vishnupad Temple, a highly
sacred site for Hindus dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
Religious texts state that the footprints enshrined
within the temple belong to Vishnu himself. Following
our visit to the Vishnupad Temple, we will begin our
drive back to Varanasi (approximately 260 kilometers, a
6-hour journey). Upon arrival in Varanasi, you will
check back into your hotel for a restful overnight stay,
reflecting on the spiritual experiences of the day.
